On Friday, April 3, 2009, Thana Lorenzo was with friends in a rough terrain remote mountain area located in Anzac, on the Acoma Pueblo Indian Reservation, State of New Mexico. This site is located approximately 10 miles south of Interstate 40, approximately mile post 92.
On this day, near sunset, Lorenzo left the site on foot and did not return. The friends went to the Acoma Police Department and reported Lorenzo missing. Search and rescue efforts were initiated consisting of the New Mexico Search and Rescue Team, the Acoma Law Enforcement Search and Rescue Team and other volunteers. As of April 8, 2009, Lorenzo’s whereabouts are not known and no contact has been made with her.
Lorenzo was last seen wearing a green or gray colored Aeropostle brand t-shirt, blue jeans and blue/white Adidas brand tennis shoes.
At this time, Bureau of Indian Affairs/Office of Justice Services, the FBI, and the Acoma Law Enforcement Authorities are working jointly in attempt to locate her.
At this time, there appears to be no supporting information to indicate foul play.
