Thomas C. McClenaghan, Special Agent in Charge of the Albuquerque Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced that a Federal Criminal Complaint and Federal Arrest Warrant had been obtained charging Lionel Roy Clah, age 20, of Shiprock, New Mexico an enrolled member of the Navajo Indian Tribe, who was within the territorial jurisdictirearmion of the Navajo Indian Reservation when he assaulted the victims, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Sections 1153, Section 924(c)(l)(A)iii; knowingly carried, possessed, used and discharged a firearm in the commission of a crime of violence, in violation of Section 113(a)(3); assaulted with a dangerous weapon, with intent to do bodily harm, and without just cause or excuse, San Juan County Sheriff’s deputies, in violation of Section 922(n).

During the May 12, 2007 shooting incident, San Juan Sheriff Deputy Korey Faulk sustained non life threatening injuries as a result of the altercation.

FBI Special Agents from the Farmington Resident Agency will contact officials at the San Juan County Detention Facility, where Clah is currently housed on unrelated charges, where they will present the arrest warrant and make arrangements to have Clah appear before a Federal Magistrate for his initial appearance within the near future.
