Bank Robbery Arrest
Thomas C. McClenaghan,
Special Agent in Charge of the Albuquerque Division of the Federal Bureau
of Investigation (FBI) announced that Lucas Phillip Rubinstein, age 33,
of Florida was arrested by the FBI in the Albuquerque area on a federal
warrant charging him with violation of Title 18, United States Code Section
2113 (a) Bank Robbery in connection with the robbery of the Bank of Albuquerque
located at 706-A, St. Michael's Drive, Santa Fe, New Mexico on April 23,
2007.
The investigation
was conducted jointly by FBI Special Agents assigned to the Santa Fe Resident
Agency, and Police Officers from the Santa Fe Police Department. Following
the arrest of Rubinstein, Special Agents of the FBI executed federal search
warrants at Rubinstein's residence located at 1419 White Pine Drive, N.E.,
Rio Rancho, New Mexico.
On May 8, 2007,
at approximately 9:30 a.m., Rubinstein was taken forthwith for his initial
appearance before United States Magistrate Richard L. Puglisi, in Albuquerque,
New Mexico. Following his initial appearance, Rubinstein was remanded
into the custody of the United States Marshal.
