Thomas C. McClenaghan, Special Agent in Charge of the Albuquerque Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced that Shada Gallegos, age 35, of Espanola, New Mexico was arrested on a federal warrant charging her with violation of Title 18, United States Code Section 2113 (a) Bank Robbery in connection with the robbery of the Wells Fargo Bank located at 645 North Riverside Drive, Espanola, New Mexico on March 13, 2007. The investigation was conducted jointly by FBI Special Agents assigned to the Santa Fe Resident Agency, and Police Officers from the New Mexico State Police and the Espanola Police Department. The arrest of Gallegos in this investigation was brought about not only as a result of the superior working relationship between these three law enforcement agencies, but also by the quick and efficient actions taken by bank employees at the Wells Fargo Bank immediately following the robbery. On March 14, 2007, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Gallegos was taken forthwith for her initial appearance before United States Magistrate Lorenzo F. Garcia, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Following her initial appearance, Gallegos was remanded into the custody of the United States Marshal. The above information pertains to allegations only. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Copies of Arrest Warrant, Criminal Complaint, and Affidavit attached. |
